Version numbers

Premiere opens any project equal to or older than itself and refuses anything newer.

Drop in a project saved by another Premiere version and this list learns its real number.

How it works

A .prproj is gzip-compressed XML holding a version number:

<Project ClassID="62ad66dd-…" Version="45">

This changes only those digits. Every other byte is carried over untouched.

It does not convert the project itself. Effects that only exist in the newer Premiere can come across broken. Keep the original, and if a converted project misbehaves, import it into a new empty project instead of opening it directly.
